Install Klervio

Klervio downloads directly from this page. Four steps, and it’s up and running.

Download the app

Tap the button. Your browser will ask for permission to install: accept.

Not offered the permission? Open Settings → Apps → Special app access then Install unknown apps. Choose your browser and turn on Allow from this source.

Chrome warns you about every .apk — tap “Download”

Open the file and install

  1. Open the download notification, then tap Install
  2. Google Play Protect steps in: tap More details, then Install anyway
Play Protect flags every app that doesn’t come from the Play Store. The Install anyway button only appears once you’ve tapped More details.

“More details” reveals “Install anyway”

Unlock the settings

Open Settings → Apps → Klervio, tap the three dots in the top right, then Allow restricted settings.

No three dots? Open Permissions, tap SMS, close the message that appears, go back to the app info screen: there they are.

The three dots at the top, then “Allow restricted settings”

Open Klervio and follow the two buttons

  1. Klervio itself asks for the Phone and SMS permissions: tap Allow each time
  2. A button flashes: tap it
  3. A second one flashes: tap it too — it opens the accessibility settings
  4. Choose Installed apps → Klervio, turn on the toggle, then confirm
  5. If file access is requested, accept

Tap “Allow” for Phone and for SMS

All set

Klervio shows Protection on. Your calls, texts, emails and links are analysed in real time. There’s nothing more to do.

Questions

If you get stuck

I have a Redmi (Xiaomi) phone

Klervio is not compatible with Redmi phones: Xiaomi’s Android overlay blocks features that call and SMS analysis depends on. The app works on almost every other device running Android 8.0 or later.

I can’t see the three dots

Android only shows them after a first attempt. Go to Settings → Apps → Klervio → Permissions, tap SMS, close the message, go back to the app info screen: the three dots are there.

The “Install anyway” button doesn’t appear

It sits behind More details. Tap that link: the button appears just below.

The accessibility toggle keeps switching itself off

Restricted settings haven’t been unlocked. Go back to step 3, then turn the toggle on again.

My phone’s menus look different

Labels vary from brand to brand. Search for the step’s keyword in the Settings search bar: unknown apps, restricted settings, accessibility. The sequence stays the same.

How do I uninstall Klervio?

Turn off accessibility in Settings → Accessibility → Installed apps → Klervio, then uninstall the app as normal.
